This varies greatly. Some students have a gift for storytelling and an ease with language that make this process go faster. Others need more guidance and coaching. In general, this process can take anywhere from three to ten sessions (and often sessions are shorter than an hour as we move through the process).
Yes, I can work with students on all aspects of the application process: development of the college list, college essays, supplemental essays, activities list, assessment of financial offers, preparation for interviews, and decision making.
$175 per hour (both one-on-one sessions and proofreading or editing prior to a meeting).
I do both online and in-person sessions. Online sessions are conducted through Zoom, and in-person sessions are held at libraries or similar locations in the Denver area.
Ideally, you should have a college essay by the end of summer before your senior year. In the fall students often become overwhelmed with the larger application process and supplemental essays. It's nice to have this piece completed before then. However, I have worked with many students on a tight deadline who have also written strong pieces.
